One of the greatest joys of Gallop racehorse ownership, aside from the success, is paying a visit to trainer, David O’Meara’s Yard. Gallop Racing owners were treated to an all access, behind the scenes look into David’s facilities, team, and of course the horses!

Tucked away in the North Yorkshire countryside, the day began with a good old brew and biscuits kindly provided by the O’Meara team, ‘subtly’ arranged on Firmament’s Clipper Logistics winner’s rug. All were welcomed by Racing Managers Richard and Kev before a personal introduction from David himself and assistant trainer, Jason.

One by one the syndicates horses were led around the parade ring. The owners were keen to get plenty of photos as David explained the progress of each horse in detail. Following this, the horses were led up to the warm up ring before progressing on to the gallops.

For many, the closest they would get to their horses was on the grandstands or paddock on race day. The stable visit allowed the syndicate members to get closer to the action and see how the horses train on a daily basis to ensure they are race-ready.

As an additional benefit to being in Gallop Racing, members received a tour of the stables future facilities, currently under construction and a rare glimpse at some of the other superstar stable mates including Arlington Million winner, Mondialiste. A great day out for all involved.
