About Pinatubo x Deep Inside
This filly was a standout for us both, so much so that it almost resulted in a ‘friendly fire’ bidding episode!! Fortunately only one of us did bid and we were delighted to secure this strong daughter of second season sire Pinatubo for 32,000. Yearlings from Pinatubo’s first crop were very hard to buy but his first year wasn’t as successful as perhaps anticipated, probably allowing us to get involved in his second season. He continues to produce very good looking stock and we believe he is a stallion for whom success is only just around the corner. This filly certainly has the good looks of a Pinatubo with a very powerful back end. We believe with a good winter she should be ready to go from mid May.
Breeding wise this is a pedigree firmly orientated towards fillies. The third Dam was a Group 3 winner whose progeny produced multiple Group 1 winner HIGHFIELD PRINCESS. The second Dam has also produced high class mares including the multiple Group 3 winning CHRYSANTHEMUM, who produced the Group 3 winning filly MAXUX. We believe it is only a matter of time before black type appears on the first Dam’s page. Deep Inside has already produced the useful gelding KATHAB (99 RPR) who Shadwell paid £180,000 for as a foal. Our filly is the first filly by this mare and we are hopeful that the filly bias to stakes performers in this pedigree continues. To view her pedigree click here.
